3. The TWHC Crest

Do Well. Doubt Not.

The TWHC crest is a reworking of the Royal Tunbridge Wells heraldic Coat of Arms.

The Arms are mainly 'canting' (represents the bearer's name in a visual pun);
The two roundels with wavy blue bars are heraldic fountains and together with the water drops (guttée d'eau), symbolise the medicinal springs after which the town is named. The lion is the Royal lion, representing the town's Royal designation and thus another canting element. 'Gules', meaning Red in colour is prominent and as such, reflects the club's colours.

The original Coat of Arms was officially granted on July 19, 1889, shortly before the formation of the hockey club in 1898.
